Classic classics

We headed out into London to hear the stories behind some vintage outerwear. These four jackets prove that if you’re prepared to put in the work (and you don’t mind the odd blemish) you can find some killer original pieces with incredible histories.

SHEEPSKIN BOMBER

Vintage bomber jacket (FS magazine)

"It’s a classic B15 US Army bomber. The zippers broken but but it has a sheepskin collar and loads of character. I got it from a guy who knows a guy in Thailand where they archive vintage clothes."

GREEN MILITARY JACKET

"I got this jacket in mint condition 10 years ago at a stall in Camden for £10. It’s frayed now because I’ve worn it a hell of a lot. It’s not that fashionable but I enjoy wearing it and it handles the rain brilliantly."

STONE ISLAND LIFESAVER // MONCLER PUFFER JACKET

Vintage jackets (FS magazine)

“I think originally it would have come with a lining which was an actual life saver. I just love the shape of this jacket and the way the pockets drop. There’s sick details; old Stone Island’s like an art project.”
Milo Harley

"I bought it off a friend who’s a dealer in ’80s Moncler. He’s like an old hooligan geezer who sells off his old pieces. Big, puffy, good for winter, comfortable; Moncler’s one of my favourite brands – it’s a sick jacket."
